Énergie Fluide

Art Gallery Imhof Fine Arts presents Énergie Fluide – a staging in which contemporary art reveals the elemental power of flow, the dynamics of colour and form, and the balance between movement and stillness.

At the centre is Waterfall by Miklos Nemeth, a work that combines the energy of Neo-Expressionism with the clarity of Post Painterly Abstraction. Broad, impasto brushstrokes in deep blue, radiant green and orange do not depict a realistic landscape but rather an emotional, colour-charged interpretation. The painting becomes a visible current of movement and energy – a translation of the waterfall into an elemental artistic language oscillating between raw emotion and compositional clarity.

In dialogue stand Roland Berger’s sculptures: Folded Pillar, a seemingly folded white column that paradoxically appears soft and pliable, as though rigid material were transformed into fabric or wax. Its rhythmic curves let the light flow across the surface, intensifying the impression of motion. King and Queen, two bronze figures of totemic dignity, unfold a surreal presence: slender, tree-like forms traversed by lines that recall channels, currents or organic grain. Oscillating between abstraction and anthropomorphism, they evoke the mystery of archaic symbols, dreamscapes and forgotten rituals.

Together, the sculptures take up the theme of flow – as illusion, as inner motion, or as archaic sign – and provide a quiet, poetic counterpoint to Nemeth’s eruptive painting.
