Art Gallery Imhof Fine Arts presents Pulse of Form – a staging focused on the transformation of physicality and interpersonal vibrations. The showroom creates a dialogue between the rhythmic vitality of the canvas and the static energy of the bronze.
In Dick Berckenkamp’s work Composition IV – Let’s Dance, the human figure is destabilized by bold, expressionistic brushstrokes, causing the silhouette of a woman to merge with a second presence in dance. The painting captures a fleeting encounter in a state of high speed, making the bodies appear both sculptural and ephemeral. As vivid areas of ochre, crimson, and sky blue collide, the calligraphic contour lines follow a constant transformation. The title becomes an invitation to grasp the dissolution of the individual form in a shared rhythm – a sense of liberation and vital impulse.
Roland Berger’s Queen responds to this dynamic impulse with a static kinetics that unfolds from a wide, flat base like a stretched veil. Flow lines and swirls pull upwards across the bronze, appearing grown rather than built, causing the form to oscillate between trunk and body. While the sculpture stands still, the lines create a quiet upward flow and a surreal draw, in which the shape continuously changes depending on the light and viewing angle. Compared to clinically smooth bronzes, Berger emphasizes an organic texture where the flow remains inscribed in the surface, making the movement palpable despite the stillness.
