Timeless Shapes

Art Gallery Imhof Fine Arts presents Timeless Shapes, a carefully composed arrangement where expressive painting and sculptural masterpieces enter into a timeless dialogue. At its center is The Voyeur by Miklós Németh, an intense example of Neo-Expressionism: fragmented female figures in vivid orange, yellow, and pink contrast with the prominent face of an observer. Simplified and distorted forms shift the focus toward emotional and symbolic resonance, while raw, gestural brushwork and strong color contrasts create a charged atmosphere.

The scene is complemented by two striking sculptures by Roland Berger. Pillar in Motion, a slender vertical bronze on a black base, captures a moment of transformation—suspended between tension and release, form and movement. Alternating surfaces, from mirror-like polish to gentle organic deformations, generate a rhythm reminiscent of waves or inner energy.

Next to it stands Stele III, an archaic basalt fragment combining natural fractures with precise interventions. A deeply carved, matte-polished recess runs down the front, evoking forms shaped by millennia of flowing water. The contrast between smooth, almost eroded surfaces and the rough outer shell plays with our perception of materiality, oscillating between natural formation and human gesture.
