Folded Pillar - Roland Berger Imhof Fine Arts

Like a fragment of ancient architecture transported into a dream world, Folded Pillar stands in space – familiar in shape, unfamiliar in appearance. The sculpture evokes a classical column that seems to collapse under invisible forces, as if part of a surreal scenario.

The tightly folded body paradoxically appears soft and in motion – as if plaster had become pliable like fabric or wax. The matte white surface enhances this impression: light glides gently across the rhythmic curves, subtly revealing volume and depth.

Berger plays with the tension between stability and distortion, architectural order and organic deviation. Folded Pillar becomes a quiet disruption – an object that resists fixed interpretation and thus gains poetic resonance.
