In Come Together, Miklós Németh merges the raw gesture of Neo-Expressionism with the vibrant flatness of Fauvism. The reclining female figure is outlined in bold black lines and reduced to essential shapes. Her body dominates the composition, radiating both sensuality and a strong physical presence.
The colour fields—bright yellow, deep blue, vivid red, and solid black—are sharply separated, without modelling or subtle transitions. This deliberate absence of depth enhances the decorative, poster-like quality and recalls the visual language of the Fauves. At the same time, the vigorous application of paint, the pronounced contours, and the assertive posture convey the emotional intensity of Neo-Expressionism. Come Together is thus both a celebration of colour and an unmistakably direct statement of physicality.
