Salon Lumière

Art Gallery Imhof Fine Arts presents Salon Lumière, a harmonious composition where the powerful language of contemporary art meets the elegance of a nostalgic Mid-Century setting. At its heart stands Come Together by Miklós Németh, where the raw gesture of Neo-Expressionism blends with the radiant flatness of Fauvism. The reclining female figure, reduced to essential forms and framed by bold black contours, unfolds in vibrant yellow, deep blue, fiery red, and rich black, radiating an immediate, sensual presence. The sharply divided colour fields, without soft transitions, lend the work a decorative, almost poster-like clarity, while the energetic brushwork heightens its emotional intensity.

Three sculptures by Veit Korn add symbolic depth to the scene. Ritual Sphere, crafted from Belgian black limestone and enriched with warm cherry and walnut inlays, fuses raw natural materials with precise craftsmanship. Evoking ancient ritual artefacts, it symbolises connection, balance, and continuity – a quiet emblem of the union between nature and human creativity. Labyrinth, carved from red Main sandstone with a gilded guiding line, recalls the ancient Cretan motif of King Minos and the Minotaur. Its gaze draws the viewer inward, yet with subtle irony, it invites us to see detours as part of the path to insight. Trojaburg, made of yellow granite from the Black Forest and accented with shimmering copper leaf, references the Scandinavian “Troy Town” labyrinths – ancient symbols of protection, transition, and spiritual journey found across cultures.
